The locally active bike delivery firm, Zedify, and city partners are keen to understand how depot decentralisation can help e-bike delivery to replace van use for local deliveries. The transition experiment will involve decentralisation of Zedify\u2019s freight depots in the city into a network of micro-consolidation hubs. Different hub designs will be tested and learning will concentrate on which designs work in different circumstances. <\/p>\n                \n\n\n                                        <a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.15mcityspecific.org\/\" target=\"_self\">More about the project<\/a>\n                                <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"city-minutes full-width\">\n\t<div class=\"container midi\">\n  \n\t<h2 class=\"fancy-spot\">About 15-minute cities<\/h2>\n\n\n\t<div class=\"grid\">\n\t<div class=\"tile\">\n\t<div class=\"text-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"title\">In a 15-minute city, individuals can fulfil their daily needs within a short walk or bike ride from their home.<\/p>\n\n<p>\tThose basic needs include, among others, paid or unpaid work, education, childcare, healthcare, groceries, entertainment, and recreation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"image-block\">\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.15mcityspecific.org\/bristol\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2024\/03\/cities-1.png\" alt=\"\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"tile\">\n\t<div class=\"text-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"title\">Increasing sustainable proximity to daily activities is more important than the duration of the walk or bike ride.<\/p>\n\n<p>\tFor some cities, 15 minutes is a sustainable proximity, whereas for others it may be 20 or 30 minutes.
